Islamic Foundation Bangladesh in Jhenaidah organised a daylong seminar on “Importance of Zakat Fund in Poverty Alleviation” on Sunday. The seminar was held in Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Conference Room.
Presided over by Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB), Jhenaidah Office Deputy Director Abdul Hamid Khan, SM Rafiqul Islam, DC, Jhenaidah participated as the chief guest.
Jhenaidah District Council Executive Officer Mohammad Salim Reza, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC, general) Rathindra Nath Roy among others attended as special guests.
Further, all six Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) and district level officials and a number of donors attended in the seminar where IFB Deputy Director Abdul Hamid Khan produced the theme of the concept on giving Zakat among the poor and needy persons as per the rules following Quran and Sunnah.
Deputy Commissioner SM Rafiqul Islam in his speech as the chief guest said, the well to do people have been donating their money to the Zakat Fund to help the poor and needy persons which should be increased as the number of kind hearted people was increasing in the country.
They should play a vital role to change the state of the underprivileged and disadvantaged people with their money to alleviate poverty from the society.
