State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak emphasized on the united efforts of all to ensure the security of digital space and said that the youth of Bangladesh would play a courageous role in keeping digital space safe not only in Bangladesh but also in the world.
The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at a function organized by Bangladesh Computer Council on the occasion of ‘Safe Internet Day 2022’ at BCC Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Dr. Abdul Mannan presided over the progarmme while ICT Department Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam also spoke on the occasion. Digital Literacy Center Project Director Saiful Alam Khan gave the welcome speech.
The state minister said, “Many young entrepreneurs of the country have made proper use of internet power to bring prosperity to their families through self-employment as well as build the country's economy as a digital economy. So we are working to ensure that their opinions, suggestions and recommendations are reflected in our activities.”
Earlier in the panel discussion on the occasion of ‘Safe Internet Day 2022’ UNDP Country Director Sudip Mukherjee, Grameenphone MD Yasir Azmam, BASIS President Russell T Ahmed, Robi's Director Shahed Alam, UNICEF's Child Protection Specialist Monira Hasan, Director Shah Alam participated.
Later, the Minister of State announced the official launch of the website www.digitalliteracy.gov.bd.
