A two-month skill development training programme on electrical wiring under private development organization World Vision Bangladesh and Society for Health Extension and Development (SHED) was formally inaugurated in Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.
The training programme is being conducted with the cooperation of district Department of Youth Development to create employment and improve the living standard of the unemployed youth.
Ronald Probir Chishik, senior manager of World Vision Bangladesh Cox’s Bazar ACO, presided over the inauguration programme. Vice-President of district Department of Youth Development Md Moazzem Hossain attended the programme as the chief guest.
Md Sayedul Haque, monitoring and evaluation officer of SHED Cox’s Bazar ACO, moderated the formal inauguration programme held at BGS Vocational Training Center. Upazila Youth Development Officer Nure Alam Majumdar, president of Ukhiya Press Club Sayed Muhammad Anwar, former president of Ukhiya Press Club Sarwar Alam Shahin and livelihood field technical specialist of World Vision Bangladesh Cox’s Bazar ACO Shuvasih Chakma attended the programme as special guests.
A total of 25 local youths participated in the training programme. They will be trained for two consecutive months.
