Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel said that if the country is to become economically self-reliant, the youth should be proficient in technical knowledge and skills.
Regional skills and Innovation Competition of Chittagong region was held on Saturday morning at International Convention Hall in Kazir Dewri aiming to increasing innovative power of the students.
The competition was organized under the Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) project under the Directorate of Technical Education, Department of Technical and Madrasa Education of the Ministry of Education.
Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel was present as the chief guest on the occasion. He said that in the current era of globalization, technical and skill development education is an essential part of national development. I believe that this process of developing the talent, skills and innovative abilities of the students will be accelerated through the Skills and Innovation Competition. They will be able to play a more active role in national development.
Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Education Department Dr. Farid Uddin Ahmed presided over the meeting. State Minister for Labour and Employment Md. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Additional Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the Ministry of Education Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Director General of Technical Education Department Md. Aziz Taher Khan were present as special guests on the occasion.
Divisional Commissioner, General Mohammad Anwar Pasha and ADC (Revenue), Chittagong Md. Abdul Malek Abu Mumtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed, Project Director (Additional Secretary), Asset Project Officers were also present.
