Paltan thana police of the capital city recovered a decomposed youth’s dead body from Sonargoan upazila under hyacinth of a jheel at Mograpara area in Narayanganj district after he went missing for a month.
Deceased was identified as Sumon (25), son of Abdur Rab, resident of Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district and he lived with his family members at 88/3 holding house of Paltan area in the capital city.
On May 11, Sumon got out of the house to buy pigeon and duck and then he went missing. Sumon’s father filled an untraced GD with Paltan police station just after a day.
Police using technology examined the call list of untraced Sumon used cell phone number and then suspected Shahin Sheikh and Aslam Sheikh were taken into police custody from Genderia in Dhaka.
In the primary questioning by police both arrestees apparently admitted that they killed Sumon hitting with a hammer, suffocated and later plunged under the hyacinth of the jheel.
Officer in Charge of Paltan police station Abu Bakar Siddik told that Sumon was killed by the criminals according to their pre-plan because of a dispute on some amount of money transaction.
Quoting the statement of the accused police said that Shahin and Aslam lived in Mograpara area of Sonargoan upazila in Narayanganj district.
They had a dispute with Sumon over 14,000 taka. As the accused residents are at Mograpara area so they previously selected this area to kill Sumon and dumped him.
Investigation sources asserted that the accused sold Sumon’s motorcycle and cell phone. But it is not yet established why the accused were due 14,000 taka to Sumon.
