Police have recovered the body of a young man named Ratan Pramanik from his house at Salanga in Sirajganj. The body was recovered on Wednesday morning. He died on Tuesday night. Earlier, on Monday, the young man got married and brought his new wife home.
His death the night after the wedding has created a mystery about his death. However, locals say it could be a suicide.
The deceased was identified as Ratan Pramanik, son of Joynal Pramanik of Saat Tikri Dakshinpara village under Salanga union of Ullapara upazila of the district and a tile mechanic by profession. Meanwhile, the parents have lost their way due to the untimely death of their only son. Mourning is going on in the area.
Ratna Khatun, 28, elder sister of the deceased, said, "I left Ratan at home around 10 pm. I got up at 5 am and called Ratan. Later his new wife opened the house. After opening it, I went inside and saw Ratan's body hanging on the wall of the house. Later, when he asked Ratan's wife, he said that he had just seen her.”
Ratan's wife Ayesha Khatun (18) said, "I fell asleep around 11:30 pm. At that time Ratan was listening to music on his mobile.
In the meantime, I know nothing more. When his sister came in the morning and called, I saw Ratan hanging from the wall of the house.
Salanga Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Quader Jilani said, "I am on the spot. An autopsy report is being prepared. Talking to everyone, I’m initially trying to find out the cause of death. Further legal action will be taken after investigation.”
