A youth was killed and another injured as unknown miscreants hacked them with sharp weapons at Boyra village under Lohagora upazila in Narail District on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Nayan Sheikh, 24, son of Kabirul Sheikh, resident of Boyra village under Lohagora upazila of Narail district.
The injured is Sabuj kaji, 22, son of Hasan Kaji.
It was learnt that the attack was carried out due to previous enmity.
Locals said Nayan Sheikh’s wife is admitted at Lohagora Hospital for caesarean section.
He was going to Lohagora hospital from his own house at Boyra villagae along with Sabuj Kaji on a motorcycle on Thursday morning.
However, when they reached at the west side of Tota Kaji’s house in the village, some unknown miscreants blocked their road and attacked them.
They mercilessly hacked Nayan Sheikh and Sabuj Kaji with sharped local weapons. They fled the scene after the attack, leaving Nayan and Sabuj Kaji critically injured.
Later, locals rescued both of them and took them to Lohagora Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Nayan Sheikh dead.
The injured Sabuj Kaji was transferred to another hospital for better treatment. His condition is critical.
Officer-in-Charge of Lohagora Police Station Kanchon Kumar Ray said the police visited the scene on information.
They have increased the police patrolling in that area. They are trying to apprehend the unknown miscreants. Legal measures will be taken regarding the killing.
