Police arrested a young man along with 120 pieces of yaba pills from Shahapur area under Pakshi of Ishwardi Upazila on Thursday night.
The arrestee was identified as Sohanur Rahman, 25, son of Md Kalim Uddin Pramanik, hailed from Masjidmor Mistripara area under Sahapur union of the upazila.
According to Pakshi Police Outpost, acting on a tip-off, In-charge of Pakshi Police Outpost Md Shahidul Islam conducted a drive at Shahapur area while Sohanur was selling yaba pills. Sensing the police presence, Sohanur tried to flee the scene but captured by the police members. At that time, they recovered 120 contraband yaba pills from his body.
In-charge Shahidul Islam said, Sohanur is a noted drug dealer of that area. He has been involved in drugs dealing for a long time. He was handed over to Ishwardi Police Station on Friday.
