Youth handball teams leave for India

Bangladesh Youth and Junior handball teams left Dhaka for India on Wednesday to participate in the IHF Men’s Trophy 2024 Zone II (Asia), scheduled to get underway from today in Joypur. 

The IHF age group men’s Youth Under-20 and Junior Under-18 of tournament will take place from July 10-14 in Jaipur.

Bangladesh Youth Under-20 and Junior Under-18 will play their opening match against their  Indian counterparts.

A total of eight teams, four each from junior and youth category are taking part in the five-day meet o Zone II, organised by International Handball Federation (IGF). Apart from the hosts India, Maldives, Nepal and Bangladesh are the other participating teams.

The champions teams of both Under-18 and Under-20 will move into the second round when the champion of this round will qualify for World Cup. 

Bangladesh U-18 youth team - Md Farshid Khan(captain), Taufiqur Rahman(vice captain), Sheikh Anas Ahnaf, Md Atik Hosen Akash, Md Sohag Ali, Rizwan Bin Faruque Annan, Md Anik Islam, Md Fahim Faisal Mahir, Md Ebadt Hosen Rasel, Ripon Ahamed Rahad, Syed Aayan Subhan and Md Ratul Uddin.

Bangladesh U-20 youth team - Rubel Ahmed (captain), Rifat Hossain Faisal (vice captain), Fantasir Abdullah Khan, Siam Ahmed, Nayon Ahammed, Shariar Alam Anas, Arickson Biswas Dip, Ashikur Rahman Fahim, Ratul Hasan, Al Muktadir Mahin Mohayminul Haque,  Sharia Nafiz, Ahnaf Wali Noor and Mehedi Hasan Raju.
