Police recovered the body of a youth hanged from a tree next to the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Hall at Jahangirnagar University on Monday morning.
The deceased Jishan Ahmed, 24, was son of Nazrul Islam, a worker at Al Beruni Hall at the university.
Sub-Inspector of Ashulia Police Station Md Aslam said that jaywalkers noticed the body hanging from a tree on Monday morning and informed the matter to the campus security. Later police recovered the body at around 7am.
Quoting the Nazrul Islam, father of the victim, SI said that Jisan returned home around 9:30pm on Sunday. His mother rebuked him centering family matter. At one stage, Jushan left home and remained missing, He added.
The police official said they suspected that family feud might have the reason behind the suicide.
A case of unnatural death (UD) will be filed in this regard, he added.
