A youth was found dead at a fish enclosure adjacent to Morichya Bazar at Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
The identity of the deceased aged around 20 to 22 could not be known immediately.
Quoting locals Officer-in-Charge (OC) M Shamim Hossain said one of the locals of the area made a call at 999 number when he saw the body was floating at the fish enclosure.
On information, police personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the enclosure at 11:00am.
“There was no injury mark in the body.
The deceased’s hands and legs were untied. Police are investigating either it was murder or an accident,” he added.
The body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said.
