The body of a youth was recovered in Ishwardi upazila on Thursday, twelve hours after he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Nayan Hossain, 28, son of Mojibul Islam, resident of Boroichara village under Silimpur union in Ishwardi upazila.
The body was recovered by police from a Litchi garden in Boroichara village on Thursday morning.
The relatives of the deceased said Nayan used to return home within 9:00pm to 10:00pm after finishing work at his shop. However, when he did not come home until 12:00am, his family became worried. His mobile phone was switched off too. His family members went to Shimultola Bazar and found his shop closed. Later, they started searching for him in the adjacent areas. However, they did not get any trace of him.
Later, the pedestrians saw Nayan’s body lying on a Litchi garden adjacent to his neighbouring house at around 9:00am on Thursday morning and informed his relatives. His relatives came to the spot and identified his body. Later, when the matter was informed to police, they reached the spot at around 10:00am. They recovered the body and took it to Ishwardi police station.
Locals said Nayan’s body had injury marks from sharp weapons on his face and throat.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Shahidul Islam said on information, police recovered the body and took it to the police station. They are investigating on the reason behind the murder. The body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
