Youth beaten to death in Narayanganj

A son was allegedly beaten to death by his mother at Painadi village area under Shiddhirganj police station in the district on May 30 night.

The deceased was identified as Nazmus Sakib Nabil, 20, son of Sagir Ahmed and Nasrin Akter. He was a student of twelve grade of a local madrasha.

Police and locals said that Sagir Ahmed came home on Sunday night and he found his wife was not in the house and son’s room was locked from the outside. Sagir managed a duplicate key and opened the door he found his son blood strained and injured laying in the room unconsciously. 

Sagir and neighbours rescued Nabil and reached Dhaka Medical College Hospital where an on duty doctor declared him dead. 

Nasrin Akter fled from the house on Sunday night and she didn’t return home till now, police said.

Sagir Ahmed, father of Nabil, told the media that his wife was mentally imbalanced and she very often was anxious to ransack interior apparatus. 

Officer-In-Charge of Shiddhirganj police station Moshiur Rahman told that though any case is not filed but investigation is ongoing to unearth the clue behind the murder.

Another murder committed on Sunday night on Dhaka-Narayanganj Link road under Fatulla police station in the district.

No identity yet established of the deceased, police said.

Fatulla police claimed that a husband and wife boarded a battery powered three-wheeler from Shibu market area to reach the Signboard area. When they reached the Bhuigar area, the husband and the wife locked into a quarrel in the running transport. All of a sudden, the wife pushed her husband out of the transport and he fell into the road then a speedy covert van ran over him. He died on the spot. 

Police did not seize the covert van and battery run auto-rickshaw, even capable of collecting the identity of both husband and wife. Nobody, so far, has come to the police station to file a case until now, OC Fatulla Rokibuzzaman said.
