Speakers at the World Physiotherapy Day in Chattogram said, 'Physiotherapy is essential in the treatment of patients suffering from various types of rheumatism, paralysis, stroke-related hemiplegia, age-related and bone loss-related pain and physically disabled, GBS, spinal cord injury, injury and sports injury. In many cases, physiotherapy is considered the only treatment for these patients.
Bangladesh Physiotherapy Association (BPA) Chattogram Division organized this discussion meeting on the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day at S Rahman Hall of Chittagong Press Club on Friday.
Earlier, a colorful rally was taken out in front of Chattogram Press Club on Friday morning to celebrate this day.
The speakers said, "There are more than 200 physiotherapy centers with various hospitals in the port city of Chittagong. However, there are only 30 physiotherapists with a five-year Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (BPT) degree with internship. So many physiotherapy centers are running fake physiotherapists. Patients are affected by this.
Convener of BPA Chattogram Division and Physiotherapist of Chattogram University Medical Center Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman presided. Chattogram Press Club President Salahuddin Md Reza was the chief guest in the discussion meeting, Chattogram Press Club Secretary Debdulal Bhowmik and writer and researcher Khanranjan Roy were special guests. Chattogram University Museum Director Professor Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Rotary District Mohammad Rezaul Karim, PP Rashedul Amin, Rotary Club of Chattogram Sagarika President Mohammad Azizul Islam Babul, CPRC Director MA Jalil were present as honored guests.

It known that since the World Confederation for Physical Therapy declared September 8 as the World Physiotherapy Day in 1996, the World Physiotherapy Day has been celebrated every year on this day. This year the theme of the day is 'Physiotherapy is the most effective treatment method in the treatment of osteoarthritis'.
