The International Consumers’ Rights Day was observed in different parts of the country on Sunday. In Kushtia, the teachers and students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia observed the day on the campus in a befitting manner, report our IU Correspondent.
Securing slogan ‘Mujib Borsher Ongiker, Surokkhito Vokta Odhiker’ IU branch of Consumer Youth Bangladesh (CYB), student’s wing of Conscious Consumer Society organized rally and discussion programme to celebrate the day. The rally and discussion programme was held in front faculty building on the campus around 1:00pm.
Prof Dr M Maher Ali, chief advisor of IU CYB unit addressed the discussion programme as chief guest with its unit president Mustafizur Rahman chaired the programme. Prof Dr M Rashiduzzaman of Bangla department 0and Lecturer Shoriful Islam Juwel of Tourism and Hospitality Management department spoke out here as special guests, among others.
A colourful procession is brought out on Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) campus.
Shahedul Islam, general secretary of the wing conducted the programme and over two hundred students from various departments attended here. In Noakhali, the day was observed with colourful rally on at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) campus and the rally was organized by NSTU Branch of Consumer Youth Bangladesh (CYB), reports our NSTU Correspondent.
The rally started from infront of Administrative building and ended at the same place after parading various roads of the campus.
In the rally, NSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Didar-ul-Alam Treasurer Professor Dr Mohammed Faruque Uddin, NSTU Proctor Professor Dr Newaz Mohammed Bahadur, Chairman of Department of Microbiology Dr Firoz Ahmed, Advisor of Consumer Youth Bangladesh NSTU Branch Dr. Abdullah Al-Mamun, General Secretary of NSTU Teachers Association Maznur Rahman, Executive magistrate of Noakhali District Rokonuzzaman Khan, Assistant Director of the Consumer Rights Protection Directorate of Noakhali District, Kauser Ahmed and the members of Consumer Youth Bangladesh NSTU Branch were present.
In Kishoreganj, the day was observed in Kishoreganj with much enthusiasm and in a befitting manner as elsewhere in the country, reports our Kishoreganj Correspondent.
Different organisations have chalked out various programmes to mark the day. District Administration, Consumers Rights Protect Department and Consumer Rights of Bangladesh jointly arranged a meeting. A meeting was held on District Collect orate conference room.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abullah-al-Mashud presided over the meeting. Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwar Murshed Chowdhury was chief guest. Police Super Md. Mashrukur Rahmn Khaled BPM (Bar), Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman and Additional District Magistrate Golam Mostafa were special guest.
It was addressed among others by CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, DNCRP Assistant Director Ridoy Rongon Bonik, Ajker Desh Editor Kazi Shaheen Khan, Former Press Club President A.K. Nasim Khan, CAB Executive President Advocate Maya Bhowmic, District Mohila Awami League General Secretary Bilkis Begum, Assistant Professor Samiul Hoque Mollah and S.V Govt. Girls High School Headmaster Shahanaz Kabir spoke on the occassion.
