A workshop on 'Research Management' was held at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU).
The workshop was organized for CVASU teachers under the initiative of the Department of Research and Extension.
Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) member Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Taher was present as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the workshop held in CVASU auditorium on Sunday morning. CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Lutful Ahsan was present as the chief sponsor. University Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal, Dean of Fisheries Faculty Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nurul Abshar Khan, Dean of Veterinary Medicine Faculty Prof. Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman and Dean (Acting) of Food Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Shireen Akhtar were present as special guests. Director (Research and Extension) Prof. Dr. SKM Azizul Islam presided over the meeting.
Addressing the chief guest at the event, UGC member Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Taher said that every university should have a strategic plan for research. What kind of research should be done every financial year, how many research papers should be published, how to involve teachers and students in research activities, what kind of incentives should be given if the research results are published in international journals or patentable, etc. He commented that the publication of research articles in international journals, citations, the reputation of graduates in the job market, the environment of education in the university etc. play an important role in placing the universities in the world ranking.
CVASU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. ASM Lutful Ahsan urged researchers to conduct need-based, innovative research activities in this era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
After the opening ceremony, the workshop on 'Research Management' was conducted by UGC member Professor Dr. Md. Abu Taher.
