Following the guidelines of Bangladesh National Qualification Framework (BNQF) and Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), Khulna University is preparing course curricula for undergraduate and masters programs in various disciplines. Among the disciplines, the mass communication and journalism (MCJ) discipline has almost completed the development of the Outcome Based Education (OBE) curriculum for undergraduates and masters. A workshop was held on August 11 (Thursday) at 2 pm in the conference room of the School of Social Sciences on various aspects of the curriculum developed by this discipline.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Hossain spoke as the chief guest at the workshop. He said that the main purpose of education and research in the university is to create ideal people and skilled manpower. Despite the limitations, Khulna University has continued its efforts. He expressed hope that the OBE curriculum will improve the quality of education in the university and that the current graduates will be able to face global challenges and work anywhere.
He also said that a teacher can never walk with his head down. He will always walk with his head held high; That is expected. It should be remembered that the erudition, research and personality of the teachers are observed by the students and internalized by them. So before going to the class teachers should prepare in that way.
He thanked the fresh teachers of Mass Communication and Journalism disciplines for their hard work in bringing the OBE curriculum to the final stage. He said, this discipline is very important. Because, students here will roam in all media and they have important role in shaping public opinion.
A wrong use of a word by journalists can create chaos in the country and society. Again, a useful word can create a lot of troubleshooting and direction.
