A workshop was held with the women entrepreneurs on small and medium entrepreneurship (SME) and investment. Organized by Bank Asia, the workshop was held at Jhenaidah Shishu Academy auditorium on Monday.
Presided over by CMSME Bank Asia Dhaka corporate officer FVP Iftekhar Ahmed, Bangladesh Bank Khulna Divisional executive director (ED) SM Hasan Reza attended as chief guest.
Deputy general manager (DGM of the bank Sheikh Shahrier Rahman, Agrani Bank Limiter Jhenaidah region deputy general manager Manash Kumar Paul, Islami Bank Limited (IBBL) vice president Abul Hossain and Bank Asia manager Saifur Rahman among others attended as special guests.
Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corpration (BSCIC) deputy manager Selin Rahman, BSCIC owners association general secretary Nazim Uddin Julias and a number of women entrepreneurs were present. Later Bank Asia had disbursed an amount of Taka 9.90 lakh, Agrani Bank disbursed Taka 80 lakh, BRAC Bank disbursed Taka 20 lakh, IBBL disbursed Taka 25 lakh and AB Bank disbursed Taka three lakh among seven women entrepreneurs. Bangladesh Bank Khulna divisional office monitored the activities.
The speakers in their speech said all the banks will be brought under a greater programme in SME, agriculture and other sectors to ensure loan and other support activities among the women entrepreneurs in near future so that they could play role in developing and supporting them.
