Workshop on integrity in primary schools

A workshop on "Integrity in Primary Education" took place at the Officers Club in Dhaka on Saturday. The event was organized by the Arpon-Dorpon Memorial Foundation, aiming to highlight the importance of teaching good manners and honesty to children from a young age.

Speakers at the event stressed that despite Bangladesh's economic progress, societal values seem to be declining. They pointed out the crucial need to instill honesty and an anti-corruption mindset in children through education. 

Rumana Ali, the State Minister for Primary and Mass Education, attended as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included economist Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, former chief secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office Md Abdul Karim, fiction writer and former joint secretary Afroza Parveen, and Professor Sharmina Parveen, the chairman of Arpon-Dorpon Foundation.

During the workshop, speakers discussed various ways to integrate the teaching of good values into the primary education system. They highlighted that children who learn to be honest and fair from a young age are likely to grow into responsible and ethical adults, contributing positively to society.

The event was well-received by attendees, who appreciated the focus on moral education. Many felt that such workshops are essential for promoting good values in schools and should be held more frequently. The workshop concluded with a collective commitment to continue efforts towards fostering a society with strong moral principles and integrity.

The Arpon-Dorpon Memorial Foundation plans to organize more workshops and events in the future to further promote the practice of Intregrity and honesty in primary education. This initiative is seen as a crucial step towards building a better and more ethical society for future generations.
