A worker, who sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a plastic factory in Munshiganj Sadar upazila on Thursday, died at a hospital in the capital on Friday evening.
The victim Riazul Islam, 30, son of late Moslem Fakir, a resident of Char Santoshpur village under the upazila, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment with 90 percent of burn injuries at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Dr Tariqul Islam, Residential Doctor of the institution, confirmed the death matter.
Earlier, a fire broke out at JK Plastic product manufacturing factory in Munshiganj sadar upazila around 9:00pm Thursday (7 March), leaving four people burned.
The rest of injured-- Motiur with 62 percent burn injuries, Rakibul with 50 percent and Iqbal Molla with 58 percent burn injuries,-- are undergoing treatment at the institute.
According to the injured, the fire originated from an electric transformer explosion.
