A worker died in an accident at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant at Ishwardi in Pabna on Wednesday (February 3) night.
The deceased was identified as Selim Mollah, 45,son of Nur Ali Mollah of New Rooppur Dakshinpara area of Pakshi union of the upazilla. He was a worker in a company called Nikimath Company in the project.
According to the locals and police sources, Selim Mollah along with workers were working in Block-4 of the project.
At about 11:45 pm, an iron ladder used in construction suddenly fell on him, leaving him dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Sheikh Nasir Uddin confirmed the matter. He said that the body was recovered and sent to hospitalfor autopsy.
