Litun Zira, the wonder girl of Jashore who overcame physical disabilities to secure GPA-5 (A+) in Primary Education Certificate (PEC) exam by writing with her mouth, won scholarship in the PEC exam.
Her father Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Post. He said that his daughter’s merit has renewed their hopes.
Litun Zira participated in the PEC exam from Khanpur Government Primary School at Manirampur upazila in Jashore. She is the daughter of Habibur Rahman and Jahanara Begum of Sheikhpara Khanpur village at the upazila.
Physical disability of Litun Zira was the cause of concern for her parents who struggled to find ways to bring her up like other children.
In her reaction, Sajeda Khatun, headmistress of her school, said they are very over achievement of the wonder girl. “In my nearly 30 years of teaching, I haven’t seen a meritorious girl like her,” she said.

A total of 82,422 students have got scholarships in PEC held in 2019. Of the total recipients, 33,000 got scholarships under the talent pool while 49,422 under the general category.
