If we can fulfill all the 10 special initiatives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country will become completely developed by 2041. To make the noble activities a success, each and everybody, especially, the women should play vital role to combat dowry, divorce, polygamy and suicide, the social curse of Jhenaidah.
Further, Amar Bari Amar Khamar, Ashrayan projects, Digital Bangladesh, education assistance programme, women empowerment, electricity, community clinic, mental health and some other specific issues should be considered with priority, said Jhenaidah deputy commissioner (DC) Manira Begum.
Presided over by district information officer (DIO) Abu Bakar Siddique, Manira Begum was addressing the women’s gathering as chief guest at Porahati high school ground in Harinakundu upazila on Thursday morning. District information office organized the gathering under their campaign activities for rural People.
Harinakundu upazila paraishad chairman Jahangir Hussain, acting upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Selim Ahmed and Raghunathpur union parishad chairman Bashir Uddin attended as special guests.
Assistant director of the department of national consumer right protection (DNCRP) Ziaul Haque, assistant director of the department narcotics Golak Majumder and upazila women affair officer Feroja Khatun were present. The chief guest also gave emphasis on social safety and environment protection.
