Forward of the Bangladesh men’s national football team Sheikh Morsalin Ahmed thinks that the success of the women team in the recently concluded SAFF Championship is an inspiration for them.

The young sensation of Bangladesh football Morsalin, who is in the 27-man preliminary squad was announced by the national team’s head coach Cabrera hailing the women’s success said, “Our women team did a great job with winning back-to-back SAFF Championship title in Nepal.”

“I think it’s also an inspiration for us, of course we have to do well. Playing at home ground is an advantage for us, so, we have no option but to win our upcoming matches match against Maldives,” Morsalin said the reporter before to go for practice.

The FIFA friendly matches scheduled for November 13 and 16 to take place at the Kings Arena.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh women's football team returned home from Kathmandu last week after winning the SAFF title and was accorded a great reception with carrying the full team from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Bhaban with  open-top bus .

But the Bangladesh men's football team disappointed much in international arena having no big success for recent time when after winning SAFF in 2003, since then they could not taste the triumph till now.

Morsalin said that despite having the advantage of home ground and home crowds, there would be a bit under pressure also, but they would have to get rid of the pressure to win the matches.

Bangladesh team have an opportunity to improve their FFIA ranking with winning the matches against Maldives. Currently Bangladesh is in pot-4 in terms of ranking. If they could win against Maldives, there have a possibility to come to Pot-3.

Morsalin looked confident when he said, “We want to move from four to three in the selection of the Asian Cup. If we want to come to Pot-3, we have to increase our ranking with obtaining full six points against Maldives.”   Morsalin’s said that wherever the opportunity comes to play, club or national side,   he tries to score – “If coach gives me a chance against Maldives, I will definitely try best to score goals.
