Police on Thursday recovered the body of a woman from a field in Lakshmipur.
The body was recovered from the Sako area of Charbhuta village under Bhabaniganj union of Sadar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Nur Nahar Begum (35), wife of Ulfat Miah of Balurtek area of the union.
Her family claimed that the miscreants killed her and left the deadbody in the field. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Lakshmipur Sadar Model Police Station Mosleh Uddin confirmed the matter.
Police and locals said Nur Nahar had been missing since Wednesday evening. In the morning, there were reports that her body was found in a field. She had a dispute with some people over land related matters, according to locals.
The body was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The cause of death will be known once the post-mortem report is received. Legal action in this regard is under process, said the OC.
