Woman killed in Panchagarh road crash

A woman was killed as she fell from an easy-bike on Tetulia-Banglabandha highway in Goalgachh area in Tetuli Upazila of Panchagarh on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Nargis Akter, 50, wife of Aktarul, resident of Jharuapara village under 1 no. Banglabandha union of the district.

Sources said the accident happened on Tetulia-Banglabandha highway in the area at 11:00am on the day. 

Cousin of the deceased, Hossain, said Nargis Akter is a daughter of a Freedom Fighter Ehsanul Haque. She was heading to Tetulia to withdraw the allowance of her father. At one stage, she felt dizzy and fell from the easy-bike on the road. She was taken to Tetulia Sadar Hospital where on duty doctor declared her dead. Family members of the deceased said she was a patient of hysteria.

Tetulia Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jakir Hossain Molla said on information, we rushed to the spot. Then we went to the hospital as she was taken to hospital where she was declared dead. It is assumed that she might have fell from the vehicle due to heatstroke, he added.
