Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) nabbed a female drug peddler and seized one lakh 50 thousand pieces yaba pills from Sabran area under Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Monday.
The detainee is Nur Fatema, 26, wife of Abdul Amin, resident of Shahpori Dwip Camp Para.
Senior Assistant Director RAB-15 Additional Police Superintendent M Abu Salam Chaudhury said, “Acting on a tip-off, members of RAB conducted a drive in the house of Abdul Amin in the afternoon. The female drug peddler was detained when she was trying to flee sensing the presence of the RAB personnel.
In the primary interrogation, Fatema admitted that she stored huge amount of yaba pills at her room to sell them.
After searching, a total of 1 lakh and 50 thousand pieces yaba tablets were recovered from her room.
During the interrogation, Nur Fatema further said that she and her husband are involved with drug peddling in the area.
RAB official M Abu Salam Chaudhury said that the female drug peddler and the seized yaba pills were handed over to Teknaf Police Station.
