Detective Police (DB) arrested a woman named Aleya Begum (45) from Ganipur area of Chaumuhani Municipality of Begumganj Upazila of Noakhali. Meanwhile, 40 liters of liquor was seized from him.
On Monday morning, a case was filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act at Begumganj Model Police Station. Before this, he was arrested in front of Chaumuhani Patwari Market on Sunday night. The arrested Aleya Begum is the daughter of Elach Mia of Underchar Union of Sadar Upazila of District and wife of Monir Ahmad.
According to the police, on Sunday night, several teams of the district intelligence police conducted raids at different places in the district. During the raid at night, on the basis of secret information, a raid was carried out in Chaumuhani Bazar.
At that time, Aleya Begum was arrested in front of the Patwari market in that market. After searching a bag with him, 40 liters of distilled liquor was seized.
District Detective Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam confirmed the matter and said that the arrested woman is a professional drug dealer. A case was registered against him in connection with the seizure of drugs and he was sent to the district jail through the judicial court.
