Farmers of six districts of Jashore agricultural region will benefit by cultivating winter vegetables from this year.

As a result, till now they are growing winter vegetables which will help them improve their economic and social status to some extent. This is what the officials of the Department of Agricultural Extension are hoping for.
Talking to the vegetable farmers of Bandbila, Khajura, Nimta, Kotrakandi and surrounding areas of Bagharpara in Jashore farmers agree to this. it is known that, this time due to favourable weather, winter vegetables such as beans, cabbage, cauliflower, cabbage, radish, spinach, gourd etc. have started yielding well.
Vegetable farmers Mohammad Ali, Momrez Sheikh and Anand Mohan said, one and a half month ago, they started planting winter vegetables. Many have already started picking all kinds of vegetables from the fields.
The prices of vegetables in the market are quite satisfactory.
In this situation, their production cost will increase but some profit will be seen.
If the season is free from heavy rains, storms, insect infestations and outbreaks of diseases, they feel that they will surely be spared from damage.
The target of production of 12 lakh 37 thousand 325 ton vegetables as 23.44 tons per hectare in 52 thousand 793 hectares in the current season.
In this region, a total of 12 lakh 31 thousand 339 tons of vegetables have been cultivated in 52 thousand 675 hectares as 23.37 tons per hectare last season.

According to the Jashore regional office of the Department of Agriculture Extension, in the current season, they set a target of producing 12 lakh 37 thousand 325 tons vegetables as 23 lakh 44 tons per hectare in a total of 52 thousand 793 hectares. Among them, 17 thousand 500 hectares in Jashore district.
The directorate has set the target of vegetable cultivation at 1 lakh 23 thousand 63 hectares in Jhenaidah, 3 thousand 639 hectares in Magura, 6 thousand 650 hectares in Kushtia, 8 thousand 410 hectares in Chuadanga and 41 thousand 910 hectares in Meherpur.
Last season, the farmers of these six districts planted a total of 12 lakh 31 thousand 339 tons of vegetables as 23.37 tons per hectare in their 52 thousand 675 hectares of land.
Abu Hossain, additional director of Jashore region of the Directorate, said that the farmers of Jashore, Jhenaidah, Magura, Chuadanga and Meherpur have always played a significant role in vegetable cultivation.
According to him, since the prices of vegetables are available throughout the year, the farmers of Jashore region are also keen to increase vegetable cultivation for their socio-economic development.
He thinks that the target of vegetable cultivation will be exceeded in favorable environment.
Additional director Abu Hossain said that all the field level officers have been instructed to give all their advice and support to the farmers of Jashore region.
