A woman allegedly killed his husband at Khoshalkhali village under Burigoalini union in Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Hossain Mali, 30, son of Abdul Hamid Mali, resident of Khoshalkhali village in the Upazila.
Sources said that Hossain Mali’s wife Khadija slaughtered him when he was sleeping and then fled the scene.
Quoting the family members, Burigoalini Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Alhaz Nazrul Islam, said Khadija slaughtered her husband Hossain Mali with a sharp weapon when he was sleeping over a family feud. Later, when Khadija was going to Khulna from local Munshiganj bus stand in a BRTC bus, her speech and behaviour seemed unusual. At one point, the bus supervisor handed over Khadija to the students of anti-discriminatory student movement when the bus reached Khulna.
Khadija confessed to the students about killing her husband. They handed her over to Harintana police station in Khulna.
Shyamnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sanjib Das confirmed the matter. He said the body was recovered with the help of a Sub-Inspector from the scene as the activities of Shyamnagar police station remained suspended at that time. The body was sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
