In the attempted-murder case of Organising Secretary of Madaripur district Ilias Ahmed Howlader, police arrested wife Mili Akhter (42) and another person Saidur Rahman (23) from a house at Mirpur-2 on Friday evening.
Arrested persons were taken to the office of the Superintendent of Police in Madaripur the same night and they would be produced before the court on Saturday noon, informed sources said.
According to police and the particulars of the case, Mili Akher, wife of Ilias Ahmed Howlader (50), hit on his head with a hard-object at the dead night on August-20 injuring him severely. He was recovered from the spot and at first admitted to Madaripur Sadar Hospital and then he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and then to a private hospital in Dhaka.
Ilias Ahmed on August-23 filed a case with Madaripur Model police station accusing his wife and five other anonymous persons.
On Friday evening, police arrested Mili Akhter and Saidur Rahman, a student of a varsity living with her from a house at Mirpur-2. They were sent to Madaripur the same night at the officer of the Superintendent of Police.
Rajib Hossain, Inspector of district Detective Police and Investigative Officer of the case informed, wife Mili Akhter and her accomplice Saidur Rahman were arrested from Dhaka and they were now under police custody.
In the preliminary interrogation Mili informed, she hit her husband on the head with a hard-object as a sequel of family feud. After hitting him on the head, she escaped the house and took shelter to a person's house in Dhaka.
Abdul Hannan, Additional Superintendent of Police of Madaripur informed, DB police arested Mili and Saidur from a house at Mirpur in Dhaka on Friday evening and they were taken to Dhaka the same night.
