BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir posed a question as to who created today’s General Aziz and IGP Benazir.
“Aziz and Benazir were created and nurtured by them (the government). Where did Aziz belong? From where was he pulled in? Now thousands of misdeeds of Benazir Ahmed are coming out,” he added.
The BNP Secretary General made the remarks as the chief guest at a discussion meeting at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Tuesday, on the occasion of the 43rd death anniversary of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
He said, “The news of their corruption is coming out from everywhere. Not only in Dhaka city, but also in the district town. Not just one or two, there are many such cases.”
“MPs elected in midnight elections are dying under the burden of corruption money,” he added. Fakhrul said, “I became a freedom
fighter to make the country independent. And now our fight is to save the country. If we lose this fight, we will be wiped out.”
“All those who love the country should unite and come forward to save the country. Our movement will continue, and it will become stronger and stronger,” he added.
Acting President of Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal Engineer Nazrul Islam presided over the meeting, which was moderated by Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal General Secretary Sadek Ahmed Khan.
BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Adviser to Chairperson Md Abdus Salam, Advocate Fazlur Rahman, BNP Joint Secretary General Mujibur Rahman Sarwar, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and others addressed the meeting.
