When Mehazabien is ‘Kanak’, ‘Chapa’!

Popular small screen actress Mehazabien Chowdhury has appeared fluently in various challenging roles.  On the occasion of Women's Day she came up with two similar characters this time. 

She will be seen in playing the roles of both Kanak and Chapa in the play titled 'Kanak Chapa'.  In the play one is found calm and the other as a defendant. Directed by Sanjay Samaddar and written by Shamim Sikder.

The story is about twin daughters Kanak and Chapa of Roeech Master from town.  Although they look alike but their temperament, preferences and behavior are completely different.  Even the way they get dressed. 

Kanak has short hair, wears jeans and a t-shirt, learns martial arts, goes to the gym, rides bicycle, and always carries a blade and safety pin with her for self-defense.  No one dares to come in front of her or even talk about anything or tease her anyway.

On the other hand, Chapa is total opposite of Kanak she is polite, calm and repressed girl.  Just like her name. 

She braids her hair, wears three-pieces, and walks with her head down.  She has huge tendency to be a good girl for everyone by accepting and adapting to everything.  And that is why the chairman son Anwar always takes the opportunity to disturb her.  Force her to love him block her paths and give proposal. Eventually, one day Anwar and his friends raped Chapa.

 The chairman tried to blame the victim by forming public opinion through arbitration in the area to turn the incident around.  But Kanak does not go crazy but exposes the misdeeds of the chairman and his son on social media Facebook.  There was a huge fight in the social media.  Public opinion was formed against the rapist. 

Regarding the play Director Sanjay said, "It is really difficult to finish shooting a complex script like 'Kanak Chapa' in two days. But we have an amazing actress like Mehazabin. That we could finish the shooting and made it possible.  We hope the audience will respond well.”

 Apart from Mehazabin, Rashed Mamun Apu, Fakhrul Bashar Masum, Mili Bashar, Kayes Chowdhury, Faisal Deep and others have also acted in the play.
