A webinar titled ‘Tobacco Control in Fighting Coronavirus: The Role of Local Government’ was held with t participation of local government representatives on Wednesday.
Barrister Shameem Haider Patwari, MP from Gaibandha-1 constituency, Gazi Kamrul Huda, Mayor of Manikganj municipality, Golam Kabir, Mayor of Dhamrai Municipality, and several others participated in the webinar.
Syed Mahbubul Alam Tahin, technical consultant of The Union, conducted the webinar while Prof Rumana Haque of Dhaka University spoke as tobacco control expert. Sagufta Sultana, Project Director of Aid Foundation, spoke on tobacco marketing licensing.
The webinar was a joint venture between The Union, Aid Foundation, Tobacco Control & Research Cell (TCRC) of Dhaka International University and Mayor Alliance.
