It looks like Ameesha Patel has landed in big trouble. A Ranchi civil court has issued a warrant against the Gadar 2 actress and her business partner Krunal on Thursday in a fraud and cheque bounce case.
According to a report in India Today, the court expressed its displeasure as neither Ameesha nor her lawyer appeared before the court to keep her stand despite the summons. The case is now scheduled for April 15 for the next hearing.
The complainant, Ajay Kumar Singh, a resident of Harmu in the Ranchi district, had filed a case of cheating against Ameesha and her business partner. As per his complaint, Ameesha had invited him to invest money in a film called Desi Magic.
He had transferred Rs 2.5 crore to Ameesha's bank account for the making and publicity of the film. The shooting of the film had started in 2013, however, it has not been made. Ajay had demanded his money back since Ameesha and her business partner had assured him that they return his money along with interest after the completion of the film.
After repeated delays, Ameesha had given him two cheques for Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh in October 2018, which bounced. She has been booked under sections 420 and 120 of the CrPC.
