Young Rasel was crushed along with another pedestrian named Tutul when a wall from a house that was still under construction collapsed on Abdul Barek Majumdar Road in Konapara, Demra.
The incident was tragic. Rasel lost his leg. Following the accident, Rasel's family has filed a writ in the High Court seeking adequate compensation for his injuries.
The High Court division bench, led by Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Khizir Hayat, is expected to hear the case on Sunday. During the writ filing, Rasel was brought to the High Court on a stretcher on Sunday morning, highlighting the severity of his injuries.
The incident occurred near Samrat's tea shop, adjacent to Konapara Market, where Tutul tragically lost his life and Rasel sustained life-altering injuries. Local authorities, including Demra police station officer-in-charge Zahirul Islam, responded to the scene promptly.
Rasel's father, Delwar, expressed concerns about his son's ongoing medical condition, noting that despite treatment, Rasel's other leg remains severely injured. The family contends that the compensation provided by the owner of the under-construction house is insufficient to cover Rasel's permanent disability, prompting their legal action in the High Court.
