Vote for Boat for dev of Meghna upazila: Merry

Awami League candidate for Cumilla-2 constituency Selima Ahmad Merry, passionately campaigned in her polling constituency in Meghna Upazila of Cumilla on Tuesday. 

Addressing a large gathering at Char LL Model High School in Manikar, Selima Ahmad emphasized the significant contribution of Awami League in the establishment of Meghna Upazila, asserting that the party is pivotal for the real development of the region.

Selima Ahmad said that the Boat symbolizes Awami League’s commitment to the liberation war, and voting for the Boat is crucial for the progress of Meghna Upazila. 

She expressed the confidence that, in tandem with the nation’s development, Meghna Upazila will prosper under the leadership of Awami League. Recognizing the immense potential of the people in Meghna, Selima Ahmad pledged to enhance the quality of education in the Upazila. 

She emphasized the expansion of technical education to reduce unemployment among both boys and girls. 

Promising to establish playgrounds in every union for the holistic development of children, she highlighted the importance of equal opportunities for men and women in development.

Addressing the gender disparity, Selima Ahmad assured the implementation of initiatives to enable the women of Meghna to earn from home, drawing on her past experiences in working for women’s development across Bangladesh.

While talking about healthcare, Selima Ahmad acknowledged the existing gaps in the medical system and pledged to collaborate with local hospitals to improve medical facilities. 

She envisioned a transformation of the village into a city through these comprehensive efforts, asserting that the time of enlightenment and progress has arrived for Meghna Upazila. 

The campaign event concluded with a hopeful message from Selima Ahmad, indicating that the dawn of positive change has begun and will continue to shine brightly in Meghna

Ali Hossain (Convener, Meghna Upazila, Swechasebak League), Mohsin Sohag (President , Meghna Upazila Chhatra League), and chairmen of Chandanpur, Manikar Char, Barakanda, Bhanarkhola, Luter Char, Gobindpur, Radhanagar, Chalibhanga and Thana Awaji League leaders were present.
