Capital city Dhaka has become worse in relation to the spread of novel coronavirus, the rate of infection and death toll increasing day by day in both densely and sparsely populated areas.
More than 200 houses in 155 areas of the capital have been locked down so far, to handle the situation.
Of these, 13 areas have been identified as the topmost affected and re-declared as the most dangerous on Monday.
The capital has the highest number of Covid-19 infected patients which is also the maximum in this division.

Experts opined that the prime reasons are the location of the largest airport, densely populated city, tendency to break the lockdown and the lack of social and physical distancing are behind the rising numbers of infections.
They also pointed out that many expatriates were in Dhaka. Some may have gone out of Dhaka. But many folks were in the city for a long time before they left. As a result, this city has been endangered by them.
Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital (SSMCH), Assistant Professor of Virology Zahidur Rahman said, “The rate of infection is high in the capital due to several reasons. These are: the population density is high in Dhaka. As a result, ‘social distance’ is not being observed.”
Especially in the kitchen market, people are not obeying rules at all.
People living in posh areas are aware enough to deal with Covid-19 as they see the physician at once as soon as anyone shows the slightest symptoms of coronavirus, said ASM Alamgir, chief scientific officer at Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
“One of the reasons for more cases being reported from these areas is that people attended gatherings, moved to different places. One the contrary, people in densely populated areas often stay in a specific place,” he argued.
With maintaining social distancing, large scale testing and enforced quarantine can be an option to prevent the virus, specialist Dr Kabir said.
Additional Director General of the Department of Health in a regular online briefing on Monday, Nasima Sultana said that despite the spread of coronavirus across the country, the highest number of patients has been identified so far in the capital and Dhaka division.
