Veteran and grazing journalist Sheikh Ali Akbar is no more. He breathed his last at Munshiganj Sadar Hospital on Thursday at 6:15 pm. He was 80 years old. He was suffering from geriatric disease for a long time while staying in a rented house in North Islampur. She was taken to the Renaissance Clinic on Thursday evening.
When he was taken to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital from there, the doctor on duty declared him dead. He is survived by a son, a daughter, a wife, grandchildren and many more.
Sheikh Ali Akbar was born on 27th October 1942 in Kathaltali village of Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj district. He joined the journalism profession in 1965 as an apprentice journalist to the daily Samachar published from Anderkilla, Chittagong.
After that, he was involved in the newspaper for a long time after the war of independence. Since then he has worked in ten daily and seven weekly newspapers including Dhaka based daily Sabuj Bangla, Nab Abhiyan, Sonali Barta, Sabuj Desh, Janpad, Shakti, Bangladesh Pratidin, Dainik Manab Zamin and Muktakantha.
