Students, who were born in Ishwardi in Pabna and now read in public universities and medical colleges in different parts of the country, joined tree plantation programme at Ishwardi upazila marking Mujib Barsho as well as the birth centenary of Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
They joined the programme with the support of Ghalibur Rahman Sharif, a member of Ishwardi upazila Awami League and son of late Pabna-4 MP Shamsur Rahman Sharif. Ghalibur Rahman Sharif is a nomination seeker from ruling Awami League in the upcoming by-polls for Pabna-4. The tree plantation programme at the upazila was inaugurated on July 27. As part of the programme, the students transplanted saplings on the premises of Arambaria High School at Sanra union of the upazila on Monday (August 10).
Chairman of Sanra Union Parishad Emdadul Haque Rana Sarder was present at the event as the chief guest. He welcomed Ghalibur Rahman Sharif for supporting the tree plantation programme. He also thanked the students for joining tree plantation programme marking Mujib Barsho.
