A university student was electrocuted in Ishwardi, of Pabna on Sunday noon. He was electrocuted at his home in Paschimpetengri Babupara area under Ishwardi municipality.
The deceased was identified as Rohiduzzaman Raonak, 24, the only son of late Councillor Asaduzzaman Pintu. Raunak was a first-year engineering student at the private United University in Dhaka, who was staying at home as the university was closed due to Corona situation.
According to family and local sources, Raunak touched an electric wire lying on the ground while he was picking up clothes in the yard during the rain and immediately fell unconscious on the ground.
After a while, his aunt saw him lying on the ground in the yard. When his family members rushed Raunak to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex, the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
