Agriculture Minister and Awami League presidium member Dr Abdur Razzaque said those who are trying to destabilize the country and destabilize the law and order by focusing on Durga Puja will be dealt with severely. Their attempts will fail.
The minister made the remarks while exchanging views with Hindus after visiting various Puja Mandaps at Dhanbari upazila in Tangail on Thursday.
The minister said there are some parties in the country who use religion as political tool to seize state power and to make money. They have no ideology, no policy and no goodwill for this country. This communal force has repeatedly attacked the religious harmony of Bangladesh and disrupted peace and order. They killed millions of people in the name of religion during the Liberation War. They were the ones who defiled 2 lakh mothers and sisters in the name of religion by handing them over to the Pakistanis.
Dr Razzaque said that this communal group is still active in Bangladesh. They are still working against Bangladesh. Everyone must be vigilant against them.
He further said that those involved in the Comilla incident and the culprits will be found out and they will be given exemplary punishment as per the law. He added that the Comilla incident was an isolated incident. Overall, Durgotsab is being celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country.
Local officials and leaders of Dhanbari upazila were present during the visit.
