Teachers, officials and employees of Ishwardi Government College in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila hold a human chain and rally protesting the demolition of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's sculpture.
The protest rally and human chain was held in front of the main gate of the college at 11 am on Monday.
Principal of the college Proffessor Md. Zakirul Haque, Associate Professor of Physics Hafiza Khatun, Assistant Professor of Mathematics Murali Mohan Das, Associate Professor of Chemistry Roknuzzaman, other teachers, administrative officers and staff were present at the time.
Professor Md. Zakirul Haque said, “We will not allow any kind of disrespect towards Father of the Nation. We will always strive to keep his dignity intact.
He also demanded exemplary punishment for those who vandalized the sculpture.
