A van driver was killed in a face to face collision between his van and microbus on Damurhuda Road in Jibonnagar Upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Harej Ali (65).
The accident was held in front of Uzirpur Madrasa on Damurhuda road. The victim is the son of late Riaz Uddin of Bishnapur village.
Hazrat Ali, Chairman of Damurhuda Union Parishad informed that, Harej went to work with his van as usual.
He carried one madrasa girl from Bishnapur to Uzipur Madrasa. He took turn after the girl got down.
At that time a speedy microbus hit the van which was coming from Chuadanga to Damurhuda, Then Harej skidded off his van and was injured.
Locals with madrasa teachers took wounded van driver to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead.
Alamgir Kobir, OC of Damurhuda Thana said that the microbus driver was arrested, but they did not receive any complaint from the victim’s family.
