A get-together and annual Iftar programme of Bangladeshi Alumni of the University of the West of England (UWE) situated at Bristol, United Kingdom was held recently at the Hotel Bengal Blueberry in Gulshan of the capital.
Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman, justice of High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, one of the alumni of UWE Bristol, attended the programme as the chief guest. Barrister Khaled Hamid Chowdhury, head of Laws at London College of Legal Studies (South), Barrister Mohammad Abdul Muntakim, principal at Nottingham Law Academy and numerous distinguished Barristers and other professionals were also present on the occasion.
Abu Taher in his speech, enlightened the young graduates of the Bar and other professionals.
UWE is well-known for its international research-oriented projects and facilities; and has a strong alumnus community in Bangladesh. It holds the ‘gold status’ in the latest government ranking for higher education providers and it is currently among the top five universities in the UK.
