Uttam Kumar Roy is showing his art in a solo exhibition called "The Actuality of Fiction" at Alliance Française de Dhaka. The exhibition started on July 5 and will continue until July 16. The event was curated by Mustafa Zaman. The exhibition is open from Monday to Saturday, 3 pm to 9 pm.

The opening ceremony had special guests, including artist Monirul Islam, sculptor Alak Roy, Art Bangla Foundation Chairman Professor Mohammad Eunus, and Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts Secretary Md Fazlur Rahman. Uttam Kumar Roy’s exhibition features 57 artworks. These pieces explore the connection between life's changes and how our minds understand them. He shows the constant changes we experience and the psychological impact it has on us. His art aims to find the root cause of this tension.

Uttam Kumar's process involves experiencing life's pressures and movements. This experience leads to deep realizations, which he then expresses through his art. His use of color and technique adds more depth to his work, reflecting the complex nature of human experience. Uttam Kumar believes that art reflects life's realities and inner experiences. He uses his imagination to create art, letting paint splatters guide him. These splatters become their own reality, showing his connection to the world. His abstract paintings invite viewers to engage actively and interpret their own meanings.

Uttam Kumar studied art at the Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts in Dhaka and holds a Master’s degree in Botany from Jagannath University. He is also a teacher at Bafa, where he helps young artists learn and grow.
