USEP (Underprivileged Children's Educational Programme) Bangladesh celebrated World Youth Skills Day on July 16 highlighting the crucial role of young people in shaping a prosperous future. This global observance, established by the United Nations every July 15, focuses on enhancing youth skills for peace and development.
The event, themed "Youth Skills for Peace and Development," featured Mr. Abu Mumtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed, Project Director (Additional Secretary) of ASSET PROJECT, as the chief guest AHM Mohiuddin, an Education and Technical Skills Specialist from Global Affairs Canada, was also present as a special guest.
During his speech, Mr. Ahmed emphasized Bangladesh's sustainable development goals, aiming to achieve upper-middle-income status by 2031 and developed nation status by 2041. He stressed the importance of equipping youth with technical skills to utilize Bangladesh's demographic dividend effectively.
Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director of USEP Bangladesh, presided over the event and highlighted the significance of enhancing youth skills for societal development and peace. Various activities, including blood donation campaigns, skill exhibitions, job fairs, and cultural events, marked the day's celebrations.
In his closing remarks, Md. Abdul Karim reiterated the importance of empowering youth through skill development for a peaceful and sustainable future. USEP Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing skilled youth who will contribute positively to Bangladesh's progress and global harmony.
