The US administration is trying to make the global community forget about barbaric bombings of Yugoslavia on orders of White House 25 years ago, the Russian embassy in the United States said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
"A quarter of a century ago, on orders of the White House, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia became a target of barbaric bombings that lasted 78 days. Now the United States is making vain attempts to persuade the international community to forget about the tragedy. It cynically calls on Belgrade to quickly turn the page and join the North Atlantic Alliance, the very one that brought destruction, death and pain to the prosperous country. Cluster munitions and depleted uranium shells have crippled lives of the Serbian people for generations," the embassy said.
"25 years ago, it was Washington that started the process of collapsing international law with the aim to replace it with a "rules-based order", invented by a single country. Impunity opened a "Pandora's box" and led to aggression against other sovereign nations," the diplomatic mission stressed. "All is still not quiet at the Balkans. The current administration continues to undermine stability on the peninsula, conniving with its puppets in Pristina and "pumping up" the self-proclaimed republic with weapons, in contradiction with the UN Security Council resolutions," the statement says.
