‘Aynabaji’ actress Urmila Srabanti Kar will seek nomination from the ruling Awami League to run the by-election to one of the Parliament seats vacated due to the resignation of BNP members.
She revealed her plan to the media recently at an event organised to release the trailer of the Arifin Shuvoo starrer film Black War.
Earlier on December 29, another actress Mahiya Mahi bought nomination form the Awami League to vie for the Chapai Nawabganj-2 constituency.
Urmila Srabanti Kar has been a member of the Chhatra League since her college days, at the University of Chattogram.
She said her political career began before she was even an actress. Even now, she is a part of the women affairs sub-committee of the Awami League.
