A mobile court fined Union Parishad Chairman Mahbub Alam Mukul of Salondor under Thakurgaon Sadar upazila, Tk 50,000 for holding a mass gathering violating government directives of avoiding mass gathering to prevent corona virus on Friday afternoon.
UP Chairman Mahbub Alam Mukul disobeying government order organized an anti-drug mass meeting in front of Union Parishad building. He even posted the photos of the meeting on his Facebook wall.
When, the news got spread people started criticizing him for arranging the meeting. Regarding this on Saturday, Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mamun conducted a mobile court drive and fined the Chairman Tk 50,000 which was immediately collected from him.
It is learned that 80 to 90 people were present at the meeting chaired by UP Chairman Mahbub Alam Mukul including the President of the union Awami League unit Dr. Majedul Haque and General Secretary Abu Dayam Jani.
Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Abdullah Al Mamun said, despite being a public representative he violated govt directive. He held a public meeting amid corona crisis. So he was fined Tk 50,000 for that. Govt rules are equal for everyone so, everyone should follow the rules.
